Velika: Ecological and Social Responsibility
According to Duden, “Campus” means “grounds or a larger area of a non-academic educational institution.”
Since we feel closely connected to Greece, we write Campus with a K in our texts, as a phonetic adoption: Kampus Velika (Κάμπους Βέλικα). Velika is the name of the nearby Greek village on the Peloponnese, at the Bay of Kalamata. The river of the same name, which borders the eastern edge of our private property, flows into the Mediterranean here and reliably provides us with fresh water.
Already upon entering the grounds at the entrance, you can feel the proximity to the sea, which is only about 300 meters away. In other words: Kampus Velika is a beautiful place of learning, perfectly suited for topics like ecology and alternative economy, connecting heaven and earth.
Here blows the fresh wind of a changing world, and the healing waters of the sea flow. A place made for sharing new insights, modern methods, and ancient knowledge.
Although the inner silence is put to the test by cicadas during the summer, at other times the place invites deepening your meditation practice.
We are well connected with many friendly German and Greek people on the Peloponnese.
Healthy food from our own garden, cooking together with friends, and evening gatherings—sometimes with music—on the beach await you!
However, you are also warmly welcome if you just want to take a closer look at our community and feel connected to our values.
In addition to year-round cultivation of vegetables, fruits, herbs, and the care of our olive trees, we build simple huts, compost toilets, and install irrigation systems.
All these activities are ideal for international workcamps, which we plan to establish in the future. Already, we are part of the wonderful Wanderjahr pilot project, offering young people unique experiences.
We already supply ourselves with solar power for daily needs.
Research projects in the areas of sustainable energy, soil improvement, alternative vehicles, and living arrangements are also intended to be possible here in the future.
As you can see, we are fundamentally open to new ideas and innovations. However, since we also have limited capacities and financial resources, we need to manage carefully and unfortunately cannot implement every idea.
For those who only want to visit occasionally, we offer eco-tourism. There are apartments nearby that can be rented.

Vegetable Growing: Walking Barefoot on the Earth
Healthy soil produces healthy food – and forms the foundation for sustainable living conditions. A central component in this context is biocyclic humus: it represents the highest soil quality and a future-proof form of gardening that completely avoids animal inputs while promoting soil fertility, biodiversity, and climate resilience (biozyklisch-vegan.org).
So, out of theory and into the soil! That’s why we are starting with the creation of the first permaculture-designed areas on our grounds.
Here, a living space for learning and experience is to be created, where we regenerate the soil, share knowledge, and help to cultivate fertile, healthy, and future-proof habitats. Step by step, a place emerges where humans and nature live in balance – concrete and hands-on.
